CCA Constituent Bodies & ICON

SMU Arts & Cultural Fraternity (ACF) works together with the SMU’s 21 arts and cultural clubs, supporting their artistes in the promotion and pursuit of their artistic endeavours. It also provides platforms and opportunities for clubs to expand their reach to the SMU family and the community at large. The Fraternity seeks to reinvent one’s journey in SMU, and to help rediscover what it means to be part of the SMU vibrancy as One Fraternity, One Family.

With 21 clubs under our wings, there is always something exciting waiting for you here in the arts and cultural community at SMU. With a wide variety of genres – dance, cultural, instrumental, visual and literary art, theatre and media – you’re in for an exciting journey of discovery!

The SMU Sports Union (SSU) is the largest student constituent body in SMU. Established in 2005, we currently have over 2000 members with 32 sports clubs. As a union, we strive to champion initiatives which promote the vibrant sporting culture in SMU and be a voice for the athletes to the school and SMU administration. 

We aim to do this by fostering cohesiveness, enhancing welfare, and providing platforms for the entire SMU student population to interact via sports. Our aims are manifested through our annual signature events as well as the events hosted by our clubs.

The SMU International Connections (SMU ICON) champions integration efforts on campus, and celebrates cultural diversity among local and international students by organising events and programmes to showcase the unique cultures and talents present in the diverse campus population. We spearhead initiatives that build friendships between international and local students. Through our 14 cultural clubs, we welcome both international and Singaporean members, who come together to plan activities for the SMU community to enhance cross-cultural understanding.

An orientation programme packed with fun-filled activities and challenges specially curated to welcome international freshmen, SMU ICON Camp provides an opportunity for freshmen to make new friends and meet seniors from around the world, learn more about Singapore and experience the unique ICON culture!

The Special Interest and Community Service Sodality (SICS) is the student constituent body that represents the diverse interest groups and long-term community service groups in SMU. We have 22 clubs in total to enrich your student life.
SICS has 5 clusters: 
 

1. Lifestyle Cluster provides members indulgence in lifestyle options ranging from unique interests of Bartending and Wine Appreciation to healthy living with Fitnessworks. 
 

2. Professional Development Cluster provides opportunities to enhance soft skills from Debating to Entrepreneurship.
 

3. Social Gaming Cluster aims to improve skills of any gaming enthusiast, from Mobile Legends in eSports, Board Games in Strategica to Mahjong in I-sports. 
 

4. Community Service Cluster hopes to ignite members' passion to serve the community from mentoring youths to connecting with seniors. 
 

5. Social Causes Cluster supports members in championing causes from animal welfare to environmental conservation.

SMUX is the CCA student constituent body that represents the outdoor and adventure wing of SMU. Established in 2000, we are a tight-knit family of 6 clubs - Biking, Diving, Kayaking, Skating, Trekking and Xseed (board sports)!

SMUX prides itself on being an inclusive constituent body that designs accessible events catered to students of all experience levels and offers both local and overseas opportunities to explore the outdoors. SMUX recognises the academic pressure of university, and through such low-barrier of entry avenues, SMUX facilitates personal development and experimental learning, empowering the student body.
